What I Love About Air Frying Meatloaf

  • The exterior gets wonderfully crispy while the inside stays moist.
  • Air frying is quicker and more efficient than cooking in the oven, especially if you are just cooking for two.
  • You can add in some veggies halfway through the cooking time and have a full meal with roasted veggies ready in not much more than 30 minutes.

Serving Size

This recipe makes 2 mini meatloaves. They are large for a single serving so you can cut each one in half to get 4 servings if you have several filling sides to serve with the meatloaf.

Air Fryer Turkey Meatloaf Recipe Tips

  • Use ground turkey that is not too lean or your meatloaf will be dry. 93% is perfect.
  • Don’t overmix the meatloaf mixture or your meatloaf will be tough. Be gentle with it when you form it into loaves.
  • Let the meat rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
  • If your air fryer requires preheating, preheat before adding the meatloaf.
  • It’s easy to toss some sliced zucchini or carrots or broccoli florets in for the last 10 to 15 minutes of cooking. Spray them with a little oil first and sprinkle with some salt and pepper.

Make Ahead Tips

  • The meatloaf mixture can be mixed together 24 hours in advance. Cover well with plastic wrap and refrigerate.
  • The glaze can be mixed together up to 48 hours in advance. Cover well with plastic wrap and refrigerate.

Air Fryer Cooking Times Vary

Different air fryer models cook at very different rates so use the air frying time as an estimate. I am currently using the Cosori Pro II Air Fryer and it takes mine about 22 to 24 minutes.

Variations

  • Use ground beef or ground chicken.
  • Soy sauce can be swapped for Worcestershire sauce.
  • A minced garlic clove can be used instead of garlic powder.
  • Ritz crackers can be used instead of Saltine crackers.

Storage

Leftovers will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4 days and can be reheated in the air fryer or microwave. Or freeze for up to 2 months.
