Air Fryer Spinach Feta Turkey Burgers

Air Fryer Spinach Feta Turkey Burgers- these juicy burgers are so easy to make in an air fryer. Top them with Tzatziki Sauce, cucumber slices, tomato, and baby spinach leaves and serve on a Brioche bun. Turkey burgers taste so much better with Mediterranean flavors.

Air Fryer Turkey Burgers

These healthy burgers are packed with flavor. Chopped spinach and feta cheese are mixed in with the ground turkey along with dried oregano and garlic powder. The air fryer quickly cooks the turkey burgers, keeping them wonderfully juicy inside.

Refrigerate Before Air Frying

If possible, shape the burgers and refrigerate them for at least 30 minutes before air frying. This will help keep them from falling apart. You can refrigerate them for up to 12 hours before air frying if you wrap them well with plastic wrap.

No Need To Preheat The Air Fryer

There’s no need to preheat the air fryer for this recipe. Air fryers heat very quickly so it doesn’t make much difference with these burgers. If you do preheat, it will just shorten the cooking time slightly.

Add Toppings

The toppings really take these burgers over the top. I like to add Tzatziki sauce, baby spinach, red onion, cucumber slices, and tomato slices, all on a toasted brioche bun.

Recipe Tips

  • Don’t overwork the turkey mixture. Just gently mix the ingredients together. Overmixing will result in tough burgers.
  • Don’t use turkey that’s too lean. I use 93%. 99% is too lean and will result in burgers that are dry. If you must use really lean meat, add a little olive oil.

Don’t Overcook

Turkey Burgers are prone to drying out if they are overcooked so be careful not to overcook them. An instant-read thermometer is helpful for checking to see if they are done. You want them to reach 160 degrees F.

Variations and Substitutions

  • Ground chicken can be used instead of turkey.
  • For more cheese flavor, top with a slice of Provolone cheese or mozzarella cheese.
  • Add a few tablespoons of chopped sun-dried tomatoes or kalamata olives to the burgers for even more flavor.

Great Sides To Go With Burgers

Storage

Leftovers will keep for 3 to 4 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
