How To Serve Air Fryer Apple Crisp

This individual-sized dessert make a wonderful fall dessert but can be served anytime of year. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or some fresh whipped cream. You can also drizzle them with a little caramel sauce. Yum! The petite size will keep you from overindulging.

Cooking Desserts In The Air Fryer

The air fryer is perfect for making smaller-sized desserts. You can easily cut this recipe in half and just make 2 small crisps.

How To Make Air Fryer Apple Crisp

  • Peel your apples. You can leave a little skin on for some texture contrast but it’s good to peel at least half the skin off. Core and finely dice the apple.
  • Mix the apple together with brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, lemon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt.
  • Divide apple mixture evenly between 4 greased ramekins. Cover each with foil and air fry at 350 degrees for 9 to 10 minutes.
  • While the apples are air frying, make the oat mixture.
  • Carefully remove foil from ramekins and sprinkle on topping. Air fry uncovered for 5 to 7 minutes.

Type of Apple To Use

I like to use Granny Smith apples. Their tart flavor goes well with brown sugar and cinnamon. Honey Crisp or Gala apples can be used instead.

Variations

  • Add a tablespoon of dried cranberries to the apple mixture.
  • Use quick-cooking oats instead of old-fashioned.

What Size Ramekins To Use

I use 4-ounce ramekins which make a really small apple crisp, which is good because I like to load my apple crisp up with vanilla ice cream. You can use 6-ounce ramekins and make 3 of them but you may need to cook them for a little longer.

Recipe Tip

If you want the apples to still be a little crisp, reduce the time you cook them covered with foil to 7 minutes.
