Air Fryer Almond Croissant French Toast
If you love almond croissants from the bakery, this Air Fryer Almond Croissant French Toast is sure to become a new favorite recipe. It tastes wonderfully decadent and special but it’s easy enough to make for a quick breakfast.

Flaky store-bought croissants are sliced in half, dipped in custard, and air fried until golden. They are then stuffed with almond paste.
How To Serve
Serve with maple syrup, a sprinkling of powdered sugar, and fresh fruit. If you want to really treat yourself, add a little whipped cream. I also love a side of bacon for something salty and savory.

Ingredients Needed
- Mini Croissants– store-bought croissants are perfect for this. They should be a little stale and dried out.
- Eggs
- Heavy Cream– Half-and-Half or milk can be substituted.
- Granulated Sugar
- Vanilla Extract
- Cinnamon– optional
- Almond Paste– look for almond paste in the baking aisle of the grocery store or buy it online.

How To Make Air Fryer Almond Croissant French Toast
(More detailed instructions in recipe card below.)
- Prepare the Croissants. Slice each one in half horizontally like you would to make a sandwich.

- Make the custard. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract.
- Dip the croissants. Dip each side of the croissants in custard, letting excess drip off.

- Air Fry. Preheat the air fryer. Spray the basket with cooking spray. Place the croissants in a single layer cut side down. Air fry for 5 minutes, flipping over after 3 minutes.

- Add almond paste. Spread a little almond paste on the cut side of each croissant and then air fry for 30 seconds to warm it. Note: Almond paste is thick and won’t spread very well. Do the best you can.

- Assemble French toast. Reform the croissants like you would with a sandwich.
- Add toppings. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and drizzle with maple syrup. If desired serve with whipped cream and fruit.
Recipe Tips
- Don’t let the croissants soak in the custard they will soak up too much and get soggy.
- The cooking time is an estimate. Some air fryers cook faster then others. As soon as the croissants are golden, they are done.
Variations
- Add toasted, sliced almonds for more almond flavor and a little crunch.
- Spread a little Nutella over the almond paste for some chocolate hazelnut flavor.
Storage
Best eaten right away. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2 days. reheat in a 350 degree air fryer for 2 to 3 minutes.
