Air Fryer Pear Tarts
Air Fryer Pear Tarts cook up wonderfully crispy in a minimal amount of time. Great for small-batch baking. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delightfully fruity dessert.

A drizzle of honey or caramel sauce adds sweetness and some sliced almonds add a little crunch.
Pear Tart
I absolutely love fruit desserts. Pears aren’t used for desserts as often as apples, peaches and other fruits, but they actually make a wonderful tart.

Ingredients Needed
This tart only requires a few ingredients.
- Frozen Puff Pastry– thaw according to package directions before starting recipe.
- Brown Sugar
- 3 Medium Pears– Bartlett or Bosc.
- Sliced Almonds
- Egg– gets brushed on the pastry to help it brown up and crisp.
- Nutmeg– freshly ground nutmeg is always best.
- Honey or Caramel Sauce
- Vanilla Ice Cream for serving.

How To Make Air Fryer Pear Tarts
- Prepare puff pastry. Thaw it first and then roll it out a little. Cut it into 6 rectangles. Take a paring knife and score each piece of dough (cut partially into the dough but not all the way through) around the perimeter about 1/2-inch from the edge. Sprinkle brown sugar on the puff pastry.
- Prepare pears. Peel the skin off the pears and cut both ends off. Cut down the middle of each pear to separate into 2 halves. Use a spoon to scoop out the seeds.
- Assemble. Place half a pear on each piece of puff pastry, fanning it out some. If your pears are large, you may not be able to fit a full half. Brush the edges of the puff pastry with egg and sprinkle nutmeg over the pears.
- Air fry. Air fry at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Sprinkle with almonds and air fry another 2 to 3 minutes.
- Serve. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle with honey or caramel sauce.

Yield
This recipe makes 6 tarts. You will need to air fry them in batches. I can only fit 2 in my air fryer at a time.
Type Of Pears To Use
There are several different pears that are good for tarts. I typically use Bosc or Bartlett. Bosc are probably the best pears for baking. They hold their shape well and don’t become mushy. Bartlett pears soften more than Bosc but are very juicy and sweet. If using Bartlett, slice them a little thicker so they hold their shape.

How Ripe Should The Pears Be?
The pears should be ripe but still firm. You don’t want them to turn to mush when they cook or make the puff pastry soggy.
Variations
- Add a light sprinkling of cinnamon.
- Use chopped pecans or walnuts instead of pecans.
- Instead of drizzling with honey or caramel sauce, try brushing the tarts with apricot jam right when they come out of the air fryer.
Storage
Can be stored in an air tight container in the refrigerator for 3 days. Warm in the air fryer before serving.
