Materials

  • ½ package puff pastry, thawed
  • 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 3 medium Bosc or Bartlett pears
  • ¼ cup sliced almonds
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Honey or caramel sauce
  • vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

  • Roll puff pastry out a little and cut into 6 rectangles.
Score each piece around the perimeter, about ½-inch from the edge.
  • Sprinkle a little brown sugar on each piece.
  • Peel pear and cut both ends off. Cut the pear down the middle into 2 equal halves. Scoop out the seeds and then slice the pears.
  • Place half a sliced pear on each puff pastry piece, fanning them out some.
  • Brush the edges of each tart with egg and then sprinkle nutmeg over pears.
  • Preheat air fryer to 350 degrees.
Place 2 or 3 tarts on a piece of parchment paper. Transfer to the air fryer basket.
Place the remaining tarts in the refrigerator.
  • Air fry for 10 minutes. Sprinkle with almonds and continue to air fry another 2 to 3 minutes.
    Repeat with remaining tarts.
  • Drizzle tarts with honey or caramel sauce and serve with ice cream.
