Air Fryer Meatball Subs
Air Fryer Meatball Subs are the best meatball subs ever. They cook in just a few minutes with a minimal amount of effort. The roll gets wonderfully golden and crispy and the cheese gets fantastically gooey and melted.

Makes a great weeknight dinner and is a great way to use up leftover meatballs.
Use Fully Cooked Meatballs
Use either homemade or frozen meatballs for this recipe. I like to use this meatball recipe. If using frozen, cook them in the air fryer before adding them to the subs.

Ingredients Needed
- Cooked Meatballs
- Hoagie Rolls
- Marinara Sauce– use homemade or your favorite jarred sauce.
- Mozzarella Cheese or Parmesan Cheese

Variations
- Add a little finely grated Parmesan cheese for more flavor.
- Sprinkle on some crushed red pepper flakes to make them spicy.
- Sprinkle with chopped fresh basil.

Recipe Tips
- Do not crowd the air fryer basket. You may only be able to air fry 1 sub at a time. If you have a larger air fryer, you can probably fit 2. You want plenty of room for the air to circulate around the subs so the bread gets nice and toasty.
- If you don’t have sliced mozzarella, you can use shredded mozzarella.
- For extra flavor try brushing the insides of the rolls with melted butter and then sprinkling with garlic powder and dried Italian seasoning. Air fry for a few minutes before adding the meatballs.

What To Serve With Air Fryer Meatball Subs
