- ⅔ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons salted butter, softened
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅓ cup semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
Place butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a medium bowl. Use a hand-held electric mixer to beat at medium speed until creamy.
Add egg yolk and vanilla extract and beat until completely mixed in.
Add flour mixture and beat on low speed just until all the flour is incorporated.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Shape dough into 8 to 9 balls.Place a piece of parchment paper in the air fryer basket. Arrange 4 to 5 dough balls on the parchment paper. (If you have a larger air fryer, you may be able to cook more at one time.) Air fry for 8 minutes.Repeat with any remaining dough balls.Tip: I sometimes press a few extra chocolate chips into the cookies as soon as they are done cooking.
Makes 8 to 9 cookies.
You can use unsalted butter instead of salted.
There's no need to preheat the air fryer unless yours requires it.
